Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

A lab within Fred Hutch is seeking a Lab Aide - Part Time to perform routine work in a clinical or research laboratory. This position is a part time opportunity working 5 hours on Fridays.

Responsibilities

Works under the close supervision of the Lab Manager or other lab personnel.

JOB DUTIES

• Prepare media and reagents, such as stock solutions.
• Rinse and prepare glassware for cleaning.
• Deliver glassware to storage areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly laboratory area.
• Clean and maintain lab/lab equipment.
• Check and replenish supplies.
• May assist with experiments and set-up.
• Perform clerical duties as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from High School or equivalent with interest in the sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Some lab experience and/or college level biology or chemistry courses.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 13 days per year).
