Knowledge of the health system and has the ability to schedule outpatient services offered by the health system. Strives to schedule appropriately, keeping location instructions, patient demographics, and insurance requirements in mind. Able to professionally communicate directly with patients and families, physicians, nurses, and departments to ensure the best outcome of all patient services offered and scheduled. This position follows departmental productivity and quality control measures as set forth by management.
Responsibilities:
Monitors work queue activity to ensure timely resolution
Documents all activity on the patient account and appropriately documents and gather patient demographic insurance information
Participates in staff training to increase understanding of specific payor requirements, scheduling protocols and general functionality
Adheres to productivity measures as outlined by management
Adheres to quality assurance measures as outlined by management
Maintains an understanding scheduling system within the scope of the job performed
Schedules patients appropriately based upon location instructions, patient demographics and payor requirements
Maintains strict confidentiality
Maintains an understanding of payor rules and innetwork insurances for maximum reimbursement for the organization.
Responsible for personal safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
Make sure that work area is clean and clutter free at all times.
Must be able to accurately read payor communication, eligiblity and act accordingly.
Solving: Must be able to recognize discrepancies and resolve appropriately.
Position will be in regular contact with physician offices and have frequent contact with internal imaging departments.
This position is responsible using interpreter services whenever needed.

Requirements:
High School Diploma
One year experience in hospital or clinic setting or a comparable position preferred.
