Summary

This Social Worker serves as a Program Coordinator at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS.) The Social Work Program Coordinator leads the 18-bed PTSD Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) at the American Lake Division - called the Veterans Intensive PTSD (VIP) program. The VAPSHCS is a Complexity Level 1a Facility and provides extensive primary - secondary - tertiary - and quaternary care in outpatient - inpatient - residential - and community settings.

Basic Requirements:

• Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
• Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited
• A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work

• Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination - unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California - which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure

• Candidates may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship - or equivalent supervised professional experience

• Preferred Experience: 2 years of experience providing treatment to Veterans for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• 2 years of experience in a supervisory position
• Has certification in evidence-based treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

• Provides education to patients and family members regarding mental and substance use disorders and best practices approaches to treatment
