Job Summary
Following the direction and guidance from the surgical location team, conducts the supply requisitioning, stocking and distribution of supplies for Ambulatory Surgery Center using the most efficient and effective supply chain processes. Uses problem solving skills to manage supply PAR levels, discrepancies and backorder/substitute items in Ambulatory Surgery Center procedural areas. Serves as the Supply Chain Liaison for key staff within the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Assists, when necessary, with the accurate preparation and timely distribution of surgical case products to the procedural room. Performs root cause analysis of supply shortages in collaboration with department leadership, procurement team, distribution partners and/or vendor/manufacturer. Ensures supply orders are processed, received and stocked in sterile and non-sterile areas and available for medical procedures. Functions as Team Lead to other Supply Technician positions within the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Processes and performs the duties associated with the confirmation and record of receipt of shipments. Prepares items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Stages and delivers shipments within the Ambulatory Surgery Center and responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of supplies and equipment associated with the Ambulatory Surgery Center business.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Able to be trained and certified on the use of an electric pallet jack.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of 3 years of healthcare supply chain experience in hospital procedural environment or similar experience required. Previous lead experience is preferred. Understanding of Electronic Resource Planning software and utilization of procurement, sourcing and receiving tasks. Receiving operations experience preferred.

Able to take direction from team Supervisor and department leadership when provided as well as the ability to perform expected duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision on a routine basis. Able to provide direction and ensure productivity of Supply Chain Technicians within the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Is able to build surgical case carts according to the requirements of the surgical requisition and surgeon's preference cards. Pull supplies and instrumentation for the assigned cases with accuracy and completeness. Initiate a deficit list of all supplies and instruments needed for TF cases and possible rapid turnover events. Communicates with Ambulatory Surgery Center staff team in order to facilitate the acquisition of the needed supplies and instruments for the surgery caseload. Keeps work area neat and clean at all times.
Serves as a resource for the Ambulatory Surgery Center team in acquiring the needed instruments and supplies for surgical procedures. Obtains all requested supplies and/or instruments from the core that are requested by the O.R. rooms. For supplies and instruments that are not located in the with the Ambulatory Surgery Center person will maintain continual communications with Customers to facilitate and expedite the needed items to the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Assists the Ambulatory Surgery Center team in trouble shooting any instrumentation and/or supply issues and makes the appropriate recommendations to quickly resolve those issues. Inventories and restocks all designated supplies located within the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Completes special assignments without direct supervision.
Ability to resolve urgent and complex supply disruptions in a fast pace hospital clinical procedure environment where urgent situations arise quickly and require immediate resolution.
Have excellent communication skills and demonstrate outstanding customer service to surgeons, staff, patients, families, and outside vendors. Ensure that all appropriate documentation and communication has been accomplished for all loaner items obtained from other facilities.
Ability to analyze and adjust Kanban PAR levels to optimize the inventory efficiencies. Work with Supply Optimization team to address items that need adjusted when time prohibits manually correction, bin re-sizing, adding or deleting items and other acceptable tasks associated with Supply Optimization.
Unrelentingly detail oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Ability to identify the level of urgency in responding to customer inquiries and escalate to leadership as needed. Possess interpersonal skills to interact with other Supply Chain departments, Clinicians, Providers and other Ambulatory Surgery Center personnel in fast paced, high stress environments.
Basic knowledge of inventory methodology, distribution methodologies and being able to identify different sourcing options/methodologies. Associate must be able to discern between and react accordingly based on product acquisition model when issues arise.
Possess technical skills to operate various computer software programs necessary to completion of duties and responsibilities including but not limited to: Hospital ERP system, MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and other functional software determined necessary for inventory, distribution or procurement functions. Additionally, this role will need to be able to work with handheld technology to complete ordering functions, PAR level management and other responsibilities deemed necessary.
Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, crouch, push/pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted (hospital environment - warehouse, clinical areas, etc.).
Knowledge of supply receipt standards and 3-way match importance.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Insures all the duties, schedules and deadlines in supply chain for hospital procedural areas are met.
Maintains all aspects of the Kanban program through the Daily Management System (DMS).
Performs Kanban node stocking (adjust/relocate bins, etc.) in accordance with company and department policy using enterprise resource planning (ERP) and daily management systems (DMS.)
Participates in the coordination and implementation of item conversions and new Item adds with Supply Chain leadership, Supply Optimization team, Value Analysis, Strategic Sourcing and Clinical Leaders
Communicates with nursing representative concerning changes and updates to supply PAR levels.
Conducts expiration date checks on all stock items.
Orders, stocks and perform inventory audits of biologics and complex supplies associated with human tissue, implants, and robotic surgery.
Supports a safe working environment including compliance with all regulatory requirements and all other hospital, state, and federal safety policies.
