Organizes and coordinates such activities as sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, and arts and crafts to effect improvement in the physical, mental, and social well-being of patients. Prepares reports on patient's progress, and with the consensus of the treatment team, modifies programs in accordance with patient's needs and capacities. Bachelor's Degree required. Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license required. FLSA Status: Non-exempt.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing Recreational Therapy in an interdisciplinary treatment team setting. Includes execution of treatment plan.
Appropriate accurate documentation.
Complies with all safety and regulatory compliance regulations.
Requirements:
Education
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Recreation or related field
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in Therapeutic Recreation
or Certification through the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activities Certificates ie Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS/TXC) or Therapeutic Recreation Assistant certification (TRA/TXC)
CPR (American Heart Association) CPI required within 90 days of hire/transfer
