The hospital central pharmacist provides evidence-based patient centered pharmacy care services to patients of Baptist Health Floyd. Duties include drug preparation and distribution for medications; evaluating, inputting and verification of medication orders; assisting providers and other health care professionals by serving as a drug information resource; monitoring and managing medication regimens per protocol or per consult; and managing pharmacy inventory. The hospital central pharmacists collaborate closely with other pharmacists, physicians, and clinical staff to assist in clinical consultations, patient and staff education.
Since inception in 1953, Baptist Health Floyd has emerged to be an outstanding regional healthcare provider. The 248-bed facility has a medical staff of more than 600 physicians representing a variety of specialties including, but not limited to, cardiovascular services, surgical services with robotics, a level II trauma emergency room, oncology services, orthopedics, obstetrics including pediatrics, full service diagnostic imaging and a wound care center. Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Current Indiana Pharmacist License or Eligible for Indiana Pharmacist License.
BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
3-5 years Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
Completion of an ASHP accredited residency preferred.
BCPS or other advanced certification is preferred.
