Molecular Genetics Laboratories Section Director Michigan Medicine/University of Michigan Department of Pathology
ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN (USA). The Department of Pathology is seeking a full-time on-site director of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory (MGL) within the Division of Diagnostic Genetics and Genomics (DGG).
The ideal applicant will have an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD and be either ABMGG or CCMG board certified in MGG or LGG. Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is required, with at least 5 years’ experience in whole exome and/or whole genome sequencing desired.
The successful candidate will oversee all technical activities within MGL. This person will liaise with the Medical Director in the Department of Pediatrics, all clinical faculty involved in sign-out, and the other laboratories within DGG. This candidate will also join a team of four other LGG faculty, sharing responsibility for the clinical interpretation, consultation, and test development in Cytogenetics and MGL as well as potential somatic NGS review. The division also hosts its own dedicated informatics and bioinformatics teams. Active involvement in our teaching and research missions is expected.
Faculty appointment will be in the Department of Pathology with academic rank commensurate with experience and achievements.
