Overview
To provide clinical care and leadership for the Neurology Service line. This is provided within an interdisciplinary model of care, with specific attention to patients at high risk of poor outcomes and transitions in care.
Responsibilities
Evaluation & Management: • Performs complete history & physical and documents in the EMR • Orders and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
Evaluation & Management: • APP may serve as a first responder for both nursing and house staff in the event of patient status changes, orders and in situations requiring procedural and resuscitative interventions. • Evaluation and re-evaluation of acute and chronically ill patients, providing necessary changes to their plan of care routinely.
Diagnosis: • Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care team making the diagnosis of acute and chronic conditions. • Manages diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance and supervision.
Diagnosis: • Formulates differential diagnoses by priority. • Diagnoses complications and orders appropriate interventions.
Plan of Care: • Formulates plan of care, identifies expected outcomes, and documents according, addressing complex acute and chronic health care needs. • Implements and modifies plan of care.
Plan of Care: • Utilizes evidenced based practice guidelines and protocols in an individualized, dynamic plan of care that can be applied across the continuum.
Documentation: • Documents key components of patient’s progress via daily progress note, transfer, and discharge summary. Including but not limited to H&P, progress notes, plan of care, problem lists, procedure notes, acute event note and discharge summaries) • Documentation is timely, meets acute care compliance standards • Documentation accurately reflects patient’s acuity.
Communication and Collaboration: • Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team. • Working with Stroke Coordinator to reinforce education to medical staff and nursing staff. • Serves on stoke committee and attends meetings.
Communication and Collaboration: • Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. • Schedules follow-up appointments with Neurologist prior to discharge.
Professional Practice: • Demonstrates professional practice behaviors including: preceptor/ mentoring, education and instruction of graduate students. • Participates in specialty specific meetings, engages in process improvement, development and review of current protocols with both Hospitalists and Stroke Coordinator.
Professional Practice: • Seeks opportunities for active engagement in research and analysis of evidenced based practice. • Maintains membership in professional organization and maintains CEU’s
Qualifications
Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program Master's degree
Current Delaware APRN license or able to obtain Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) NIH

Founded in 1916 by two physician brothers, Drs. James Beebe and Richard C. Beebe, the medical center in Lewes is a 210-licensed-bed, not-for-profit seaside community hospital. Beebe's specialized service lines include cardiac and vascular, surgical services, oncology, women's health, and orthopaedic services. Beebe offers an array of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and diagnostic services.
Beebe's five satellite campuses offer imaging, physical rehabilitation, and lab services, as well as walk-in care centers. In addition, Beebe offers Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine and Diabetes Management & Medical Nutrition Therapy.
With a mission to serve the community, Beebe also offers many free screenings and outreach programs through its Population Health Department; and advanced medical care for those who are recuperating at home through Beebe Home Care Services.

Beebe's Medical Staff has grown tremendously since the early 1990s. Employed physicians through Beebe Medical Group and our affiliated physicians on Beebe's Medical Staff now serve patients from Milford to Millville in specialties including cardiac surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, family practice, gastroenterology, general surgery, internal medicine, pediatric neurology, and surgical oncology.
