The Polysomnographic Technologist is an individual who possesses the necessary skills to perform specialty diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to sleep disorders. This includes, but is not limited to diagnostic polysomnography, Split Night testing, CPAP, Bi-Level, Auto-Servo Ventilation (ASV), Oxygen titrations, and End Tidal CO2 monitoring. The Polysomngraphic Technologist must be able to work independently, act as a resource person in the area of sleep disorders, and provide individualized customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff. The Polysomnographic Technologist is also responsible for assisting with Quality Improvement.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Polysomnography Therapists will need the following:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of patient care/medical experience
Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) upon hire or within 2 years
Set schedule for 3 nights a week. Hours are 7p to 730a
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.
