Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, seeks a full-time Transplant Nephrologist at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine.
Candidates must have completed a formal ASN/AST Accredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship and have Board Certification in Nephrology. The candidate will join the Division of Nephrology, and work within the Transplant Service Line, which is comprised of eleven Advanced Practice Providers and thirteen clinical faculty. The Transplant Nephrologist will be responsible for all phases of care of kidney and pancreas transplant recipients, including pre and post-transplant care, performing kidney transplant biopsies, assessment of living donors, supervision of renal fellows and research. The Transplant Nephrologist will also provide support to the outreach strategy by attending outreach clinics in the greater Chicagoland area, with the goal of building referral streams for Kidney Transplant patients.
The mission of the Transplant Service Line at Rush University Medical Center is to provide superior patient care and maintain superb clinical outcomes. We work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to ensure the patients will receive true multidisciplinary care in the entire continuum of the pretransplant, perioperative and post-transplant care. The Transplant Service Line has locations across Chicagoland and northwest Indiana. The kidney transplant program has an annual volume of approximately 150.
