Position Overview:
Full-time faculty position at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.
Focus on clinical care of children with pediatric rheumatologic disorders in the ambulatory setting.
Perform inpatient consults at UVA Children’s Hospital.
Teach and supervise trainees and students.
Opportunity to take a leadership role in growing a clinical pediatric rheumatology program at UVA.
Collaborate with the Section to advance clinical, educational, and scholarly goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide outpatient and inpatient clinical care for pediatric rheumatology patients.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Lead and develop the pediatric rheumatology program.
Participate in research and scholarly activities.
Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within the Department of Pediatrics and beyond.
Preferred Qualifications:
Established academic pediatric rheumatologist with leadership experience.
Active research program in pediatric rheumatology.
Required Qualifications:
Medical doctorate (M.D. or equivalent).
Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia.
Completed ACGME-accredited Pediatric Rheumatology training program.
Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Division Highlights:
Nationally recognized Food Allergy, Immunodeficiency, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis programs.
New pediatric bone marrow transplant program for immunology collaboration.
Collaboration opportunities with Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, Transplant Surgery, and adult Gastroenterology.
Research programs in cystic fibrosis, severe asthma, aerodigestive conditions, primary ciliary dyskinesia, sleep medicine, and neuromuscular weaknesses.
