We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position offering a unique opportunity to provide specialized pharmaceutical care in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.
Position Details:
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend requirement every 12th weekend. Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for a sign-on bonus.
This is an advanced level clinical pharmacist position responsible and accountable for the provision of departmental and organizational clinical pharmacy services. This position provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients from neonate to adulthood while performing the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist aligns with targeted interdisciplinary programs and specialty services to deliver medication therapy management services to ensure pharmaceutical care programs are appropriately integrated throughout the institution. Clinical Pharmacist Specialists serve as departmental resources and liaisons to other departments and hospital personnel and participate in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system. This position reports directly to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Education
Doctorate (Pharm. D.) degree in Pharmacy or equivalent (Required)
Experience
Three (3) years of experience in pediatric pharmacy practice in an acute care environment or equivalent (e.g., residency training). (Required)
Experience with medication products, medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states. (Required)
Meets all competencies and qualifications required for a Clinical Staff Pharmacist. (Required)
Experience with pharmacy related clinical information systems (Required)
Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 Accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency in Pediatrics (Preferred)
Certifications
Current licensure as a pharmacist or eligible, either by reciprocity or examination by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy (Required)
Current BLS, ACLS or PALS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association (Preferred)
Board Certification in Pediatrics or Pharmacotherapy (Preferred)
Special Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with clinical pharmacy and intervention data and systems (Required)
Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, clinical and medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams . (Required)
Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension at all levels. (Required)
Ability to problem solve, think analytically and exercise independent judgment and prepare written and oral presentations. (Required)
Experience with Pharmacy Residency Programs and precepting students (Preferred)
