Responsibilities:
Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Coordinates the daily operation of the department including department associates and volunteers.
Recruit, screen, orient, and place volunteers.
Assist with planning and developing programs to maximize customer and volunteer satisfaction and supplement the services of the hospital.
Oversees the management of the Information Desk, Gift Shop, and Waiting Rooms.
Reviews and prioritizes requests for volunteers and assigns to departments.
Develops and monitors job descriptions of associates and volunteers and ensures agreed guidelines are followed.
Serve as a liaison between departments and volunteers to resolve any conflict.
Also acts as the junior volunteer coordinator.
Requires knowledge of volunteer programs and supervision to direct assigned associates and volunteers, and develop and implement volunteer programs.
Ability to review and prioritize department requests and assign volunteers as appropriate.
Analytical ability to develop and monitor job duties of associates and volunteers, to develop and implement policies and procedures for the volunteer programs, and monitor the budget.
Strong interpersonal skills required for supervising and training associates and volunteers as well as interacting with all hospital departments.
Must have the ability to interact appropriately with all associates, volunteers, patients, and visitors, especially under difficult circumstances.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
2 to 3 years of experience as a volunteer coordinator required.
Experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Volunteer certification is preferred.
