Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the inventory control and loss prevention functions of a chain of retail stores, including coordination of physical inventory process, development and oversight of cycle count process, development and oversight of a loss prevention program, coordination with inventory and cost accountants, and coordination with both internal and external auditors for all observations and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for management of inventory control for all retail stores and inventory locations, as well as oversight of inventory analysis in conjunction with the accounting function.
Responsible for implementing and managing standard processes and procedures for inventory control and loss prevention.
Responsible for implementing and managing the cycle count programs at all retail sites.
Implement procedures to enhance and optimize inventory performance and proactively suggest process changes to site inventory management and control to meet targets.
Analyze inventory obsolescence, shrinkage, and turnover; calculate inventory risks, and communicate trends to management.
Work with all site managers and staff on initiatives and act as communication liaison between Retail Sites, Accounting and Operations to resolve inventory issues that arise.
Identify and implement system related process improvements and reports, and communicate any identified new system needs to manage/improve inventory control.
Managing implementation and execution of internal controls and support the development of a strong internal control environment for inventory management.
Serve as subject matter expert for super users on the inventory sub-ledger and financial accounting systems.
Responsible for coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of retail site and team personnel, and for creating a positive and motivating environment in which to work.
Accountable for communication and training of all site employees on all inventory-related procedures, including receiving, transferring, cycle counting, replenishment, and physical inventory counts.
Act as team leader on special projects as needed.
Performs other duties as requested by management.
