Occupational Summary
This position is responsible for producing financial analysis and reports including, but not limited to, annual operational budgets, financial statements, cost analyses and other financial information related to the Corporate Services operations of Duke University Health System. This role will be primarily focused on Duke Network Services but will also support other Corporate Services organizations. More specifically, responsibilities include monthly revenue recognition of existing Duke Network Services affiliations and the Duke Lifepoint joint venture, as well as quarterly billing of affiliates and any follow-up for outstanding accounts. Additionally, timely completion of complex and specialized projects and/or analyses related to Duke Network Services including development of financial models and analysis of potential affiliations as needed. A successful candidate must be able to take ownership of multiple projects, be an excellent communicator, and adhere to tight deadlines.
Work Performed
Partner with Network Services leadership to assist in the development of financial models for business plans for affiliation platforms.
Responsible for pro forma development for new programs and services in partnership with appropriate Network Services leadership; including but not limited to development and recommendations for license and operational fee proposals, which are modeled under a variety of assumptions including risk-sharing based on profitability or a percentage of revenue associated with a program, when applicable.
Collaborate with Network Services team leaders and clinical contracting to establish and implement payment to DUHS, DU for Duke contractual services acquired outside of Network Services
Responsible for periodically analyzing key performance indicators for the entity in relation to comparable organizations and annual targets.
Monitor and oversee the preparation of financial analyses and reports, including but not limited to, monthly revenue recognition, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses, quarterly affiliate billing (including implementation for new programs and services) and outstanding accounts, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and other financial information for Network Services affiliates as required by the contracts terms and for other Corporate organizations.
Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements for the cost centers within Network Services and other assigned Corporate organizations.
Provide financial analysis associated with business plans and all capital requests.
Coordinate and participate in the preparation of various financial reports and analyses for senior leadership.
Prepare, update, and maintain documentation related to work performed.

Education
Position requires the organizational, analytical and communication skills normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in Accounting or Business.
Experience
Work generally requires 6 years of progressive financial auditing, reporting, or systems experience including knowledge of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
