Children’s Clinics is seeking a Full-Time Audiologist!

As a member of the Rehabilitative Therapies Services team, the Audiologist will join a strong transdisciplinary team serving a diverse patient population consisting primarily of children with complex medical needs, including learning and language disorders; cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, Downs syndrome; autism spectrum disorder, and other pediatric conditions. The Audiologist will provide audiology services that include but are not limited to: comprehensive audiology evaluations including evaluating the very young and difficult to test populations, hearing aid selection and fittings, BAHA fittings, Non-sedative ABR testing (for both threshold estimation and retrocochlear function); Cochlear Implant candidacy evaluations and post-implantation activations and mappings; and be part of an inter-disciplinary cochlear implant team that work closely with ENT physicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts age-appropriate audiological evaluations to assess hearing acuity, middle ear function, cochlear function, the integrity of the auditory pathways and auditory processing, making appropriate medical, habilitative, and educational recommendations based upon assessment findings.
Selects, orders and fits conventional hearing aids and bone anchored hearing systems based on audiological evaluation, age, developmental level and special needs of pediatric patients, and family input. Hearing aid fittings are conducted with appropriate verification of the fitting (i.e. probe tube measurements; RECDs).
Provides instructions and appropriate counseling in the care and use of hearing aids to patients and families. Monitors progress and, as needed, provide continuing education and orientation regarding amplification.
Identifies, assesses and determines candidacy for cochlear implantation with both the patient’s family and as a member of the cochlear implant team.
Provide non-sedated ABR evaluations for both threshold estimation and retrocochlear function evaluation.
Provides cochlear implant candidacy evaluation pre-implant; Audiological Rehabilitation post-implantation; including activations and mappings.
Provides ongoing education to parents, families, educators, and other professionals regarding hearing loss and its impact on language, learning, and socialization. Provides information to parents and professionals regarding advances in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss.
Participates in new staff orientation and ongoing staff education; mentors and provides training on areas of expertise or specialty as requested by Department Manager
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Audiology required
Experience:
Two or more year’s pediatric experience preferred
Licenses and Certificates:
Arizona Department of Health Services Dispensing Audiologist Licensure required
AHCCCS Provider Identification Number required and obtained upon hire
BLS certification required
FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE
Employees are required to maintain a current Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Proof of a current fingerprint clearance card must be received within 90 days of employment.
