Phoenix Children’s is hiring a Practice Manager for our OPTHAMOLOGY Department. Incumbent will be responsible for 6 locations in the valley and manage approximately 24 employees. Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years leadership experience in an ophthalmology pediatric clinic and have strong interpersonal skills to manage a variety of different tasks that will include - but not limited to, the day to day needs of each of the clinics, work directly with clinical teams to ensure there is support for high volume clinic days, i.e., face to face patient interaction, and incoming calls/emails. Must have experience working in a hospital/clinic environment, managing the purchasing process, approving invoices, equipment repairs, creating and monitoring metrics/KPI’s, and communicating expectations to staff. Incumbent will also be responsible to staffing, managing daily performance of employees, as well as working with providers, specifically the OR surgeons to ensure surgery time is being utilized efficiently, and issues are being addressed in a timely manner. The primary location will be at our Thomas campus, but incumbent will be expected to visit other clinics monthly to ensure policies are consistent across the 6 locations. Ophthalmology clinics are in Phoenix, Gilbert and Glendale, and will support 10 surgeons, and 3 Optometrists. This position is M - F, 8 AM - 4:30 PM.
The Practice Manager is responsible for the 24 hour accountability of work flow, performance and overall management and operations of the designated practice(s) and other assigned areas. This position works closely with the Division Chief and Administrative Director, PCMG Operations including participation in the development and execution of strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, financial / budget reporting and monitoring. Maintains physical environment and equipment for effective operations. Delegates and supervises personnel. The position involves planning and overseeing all operations and business related activities that may include but not limited to surgical, procedural, and clinic scheduling; billing operations; coding; auditing and reimbursement operations; credentialing, and other unique practice operations and financial practices. This position seeks guidance from the Administrative Director, PCMG Operations and/or Vice President, PCMG Operations for unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation from financial / operational policies and standards of practice.
Education
Bachelors in Business, Health Administration or related field or combination of education and experience. (Required)
