SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Centrally coordinates in-patient and out-patient procedures/tests and assures accurate processing of these for physicians and their scheduling personnel. This position is PRN working approximately 17 hrs per week after training. The position will be cross trained to support the Rehab Department (Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy) both on an acute and outpatient care basis. Position supports scheduling for acute and outpatient care. Candidate needs a high school degree and will be trained on the job for this role. Components of this role include, but are not limited to: patient care assistance, transferring of patients, escorting patients (via wheelchair), assisting clinical staff in patient care, helping to manage paperwork for patient charts, managing patient orders including calling patients, answering phone, greeting patients, checking in patients, collecting co-payments from patients and assistance to keep all aspect of the therapy department running smoothly. Candidates will be trained on the job and, once trained, will be utilized to cover planned/unplanned staff absences. An ideal candidate has flexibility to support Monday-Friday during hours ranging from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m., depending on the role they are covering. Shifts are generally 8 hours in length. No weekends or holidays for this role. Great customer service, ability to multi-task and flexibility are key. EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years' experience in a medical office setting. SPECIAL SKILLS: Typing/keyboarding skills.required; Customer service skills required; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Medical terminology; Ability to multi-task. EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
