Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Under the oversight of the Clinical Business Development Team, the External Relations Liaison manages an array of responsibilities in the service of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center's goal of improving cancer care, regionally and beyond. We strive to further the reach of the Fred Hutch's expertise and knowledge by developing new relationships through local, regional, and international events and conferences as well as stewarding and cultivating deeper relationships with our existing stakeholders.
The External Relations Liaison serves a key role in developing and implementing outreach strategies for Fred Hutch's Service Lines as well as the Regional Sites across the Puget Sound. As an external ambassador of the organization, the liaison will manage the physician-targeted outreach for a portfolio of clinics delineated by territory and specialty.

Responsibilities
- Manage the external and internal relationships in assigned portfolio delineated by specialty, subspecialty, and a defined territory within the WHAMIO region.
- With guidance from Senior Manager, develop strategic outreach plans based on data synthesized from a variety of sources including service line priorities, Salesforce (PRM), SG2 (Claims), and field intelligence.
- With guidance from Senior Manager, develop, propose, and execute tactics outlined in strategic plans including, but not limited to, physician-to-physician engagements, liaison-to-physician engagements, clinic drop-ins, educational events (accredited and non-accredited), webinars, community outreach events, etc.
- Leverage the Salesforce physician relationship management database to identify targets, plan tactics, track deliverables, create reports, map routes, and record important findings from the field.
- Collaborate with a strong and independent team of Liaisons to support outreach efforts across all territories, service lines, and regional sites, ensuring messaging that tells the whole Fred Hutch story.
- Actively participate in local and regional travel to strengthen relationships with physicians and clinics in the liaison's portfolio. This may include taking Fred Hutch physicians to in-person meetings or visiting clinics for liaison-to-physician meetings. Destinations will include regional sites. At least 40% travel is expected.
- Manage and track requests from external physicians, escalating as necessary until issues and requests are resolved.
- Regularly report on status of outreach plans as well as field intelligence gathered to internal stakeholders including Service Line Management, and executive leadership at Fred Hutch.
- Keep up to date on emerging offerings from service lines, community sites, and the education team; Promote new offerings to contacts in the liaison's portfolio. Maintain knowledge of referring pathways within disease specific oncology service lines.
- Develop and propose marketing materials to promote outreach tactics by collaborating closely with the Fred Hutch Marketing and Communications team.
- As part of Fred Hutch's geographic expansion plan, support Regional Site Launch efforts as Fred Hutch opens oncology services in new locations.
- National Conference(s) attendance as assigned.
- Continuously meet or exceed goals detailed in fiscal year strategic plans.
- Coordinate event logistics and travel for outreach events and engagements.
- Submit expense reports and reconcile credit card statements each month.
- Maintain an accurate and visible calendar.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Driver's license required; access to reliable transportation required.
- Travel regionally with some overnight depending on locations-approximately 40-50%; some outreach presentations/activities are after 6:00 p.m.
- At least 4 years of progressively complex administrative and project management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in engaging external or internal audiences in a healthcare setting which may include community outreach, event planning, project coordination, and/or delivering presentations.
- Knowledge of the local healthcare marketplace and physician dynamics.
- Intrinsically motivated and able to create innovative ideas to achieve results. Recognizes and seizes opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to express oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communications required.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Takes responsibility and initiative to set and meet goals, objectives and obligations while representing the mission, visions and values of the organization.
- Attention to detail required and an ability to use sound personal judgment and trouble shoot issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
- Comfortable presenting to large audiences and interacting with physician leaders.
Preferred:
- Master's degree
- Experience with Salesforce, Tableau Data Software, and SharePoint.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $78,894.40 to $118,310.40 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
