About the Role:
Job Summary
NGHS uses Quest for Excellence as an operational improvement methodology based on the Toyota Production System, or "Lean", as the basis for its operating system to continuously improve processes to meet business imperatives and outcomes. Internal Quest Resource consultants provide coaching, education, improvement activity facilitation, and function as champions for NGHS Quest for Excellence. Consultants develop Lean thinking in support of achieving strategic business outcomes; consultants also lead and coach leaders to develop broad systems and infrastructures throughout their areas that enable daily improvement at all staff levels. Consultants rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan, accomplish goals, and collaborate within NGHS.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Lean certifications, such as Accelerated or Rapid Improvement Workshop, Value Stream Mapping, 3P.
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree. Demonstrated implementation of complex and strategic improvement initiatives at all levels of organization. Demonstrated experience in developing Lean skills in others through active coaching. MA/MS degree in Health Administration or equivalent program.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years experience with Toyota Production System (TPS), or equivalent production system, such as leading Rapid Process Improvement workshops and facilitating 5S systems in small and large organizations. Experience with coaching and leading Lean improvement work in a healthcare or hospital setting. Three (3) to five (5) years of facilitation experience with groups, training teams, and/or consulting with diverse client groups.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Quest Management System. Assist in identification, prioritization and selection of potential projects in all functional areas of the business to optimize existing processes for waste reduction and cost control. Participate in and lead projects and business initiatives resulting in process improvements and waste reduction. Act as a positive change agent in support of the Quest methodologies and initiatives. Coach/mentor colleagues and employees at all levels of the organization in the use of Quest tools and methodologies to ensure timely completion of projects to deliver planned results. Facilitate project team meetings and provide guidance and support to Senior Project Leader. Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information and develop and implement process solutions. Educate and coach leaders to apply Quest principles, tools, and methodology in their work and model Quest thinking for their staff through hands-on practice. Identify barriers to success and solicit help from leadership and designated governance teams as and when needed. Deliver Quest educational offerings as assigned.
Customer Service and Communication. Act as a role model for organizational continuous improvement. Serve as a consultant and content expert to leaders and key stakeholders. Read, interpret and validate customer perspective. Involve key stakeholders in crafting messages that address their main concerns. Develop effective, responsive communication methods that leverage traditional and nontraditional resources and meet the needs of the target audience. Provide professional, engaging, and articulate presentations to target audiences.
Operational Excellence Program and Self Development. Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge on topics related to continuous performance improvement (Lean) best practices. Support outreach objectives as assigned (groups coming in, sharing outside). Participate in the continuous improvement of division/department operations and management system. Participate in learning opportunities and suggestion process to improve consulting practice. Participate in the development and deployment of new programs as assigned.
