PSYCHIATRIST, ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR HERBERT WERTHEIM COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

The College of Medicine is an academic and clinical affiliate of Baptist Health, South Florida’s largest not-for-profit health system.
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. This position combines teaching and clinical care and involves designing, implementing, and improving psychiatry curriculum and assessments while mentoring students and collaborating with faculty to ensure high-quality, integrated medical education. Additional responsibilities include supervising clinical rotations, supporting faculty development, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives in medical education.
The clinical component includes providing exceptional outpatient psychiatric care, engaging in behavioral health integration, and supporting medical student training through hands-on teaching and feedback.
Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree such as MD or DO and an unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida. Training in an allopathic psychiatry residency and board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) (or obtaining board certification within one (1) year of employment) are required for physicians in this role.
Preferred qualifications include experience in child and adolescent psychiatry. Previous experience in an academic medical environment supporting curriculum and instruction. Experience in graduate medical education.
