Joining at a pivotal moment in healthcare and biomedical discovery, locally and nationally, the Chair will have an opportunity to create opportunities for collaboration and cultivate external donors and partners for future departmental growth and distinction. In recent years, faculty have grown the scale and scope of the clinical footprint, where today, radiology has a presence across the system and in the community, and this Chair will be responsible for continuing this growth and expansion as well as leading UAB to unprecedented success.
Reporting to Anupam Agarwal, MD, the Dean of the Heersink School of Medicine, the ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in collaborative leadership, administrative experience, program development, research, educational excellence, successful faculty recruitment and retention, and engagement across an academic health system. In addition, a strong record of research accomplishments, productivity, and peer-reviewed extramural funding, and a track record of program development and faculty and trainee recruitment and development is highly desirable. Further, candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Professor level at the Heersink School of Medicine.
