Maintain and monitor appropriate financial controls. ? Oversees and directs the monthly preparation of utilization and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. ? Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.
? Research and resolves problems pertaining to financial reporting systems, ensuring compliance with hospital procedures and policies. ? Applies a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies. ? Works with managers to develop departmental budgets in conjunction with the organization?s overall goals and individual department productivity standards. ? Performs year end closing activities; prepares the requested year end spreadsheets and reports for audit. ? Provides analytical reports to monitor the performance of areas of the hospital or physician practices. ? Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary. ? Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare, maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements ? Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor?s degree in business, concentration in accounting, required.
Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), highly desired
Experience: ? Minimum of five (5) years? accounting experience with at least three (3) years in a position of supervisory level, having management responsibilities, required. ? Experience performing audits in a healthcare related field or public accounting, required.
