The RN-Outpatient Services Center serves as the team lead over nursing staff within the Outpatient Services Center Unit. The Clinical Coordinator will also fulfill duties of the Registered Nurse job description.

? Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. ? Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. ? Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. ?Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
? Performance reflects knowledge in all areas of care specific to outpatient surgery (i.e., GI, autologous, sedation). ? Organizes and manages nursing activities reflecting due consideration for patients? needs and the needs of the facility and staff. ? Follows the six (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. ? Maintains current knowledge of medications and IV fluids and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. ? Provides patient with explanation and verbal reassurance consistently. ? Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action in a timely manner. ? Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and can identify dysrhythmias. ? Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians in the OPS/GI unit. ? Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures ? Maintains accurate and continued documentation. Documentation meets current standards and policies. ? Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. ? Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary. ? Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. ? Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare. ? Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licenses: Must have a current Mississippi Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license.
Certifications: ? Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Experience: Previous clinical nursing experience in an inpatient setting (hospital), preferred
