Cedars-Sinai is a nationally recognized leader in comprehensive clinical cancer care, research, and post-graduate medical education including Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics residency programs.
Our combined departments include six linear accelerators with VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and IGRT capabilities, two HDR brachytherapy afterloaders, two superficial treatment units, three 4D CT-simulators, real-time motion management systems, multi-modality deformable imaging/treatment planning systems and oncology information systems. Over 3000 new patients are treated each year at Cedars-Sinai Radiation Oncology Departments.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Perform plan-specific dosimetric measurements, dose calculations, dosimetric and geometric comparisons, and analysis for IMRT and conformal treatment plans under supervision. Analysis is performed with various dosimetric systems, ion chambers, portal imagers, and other devices.
Analysis of dosimetric and planning results using software applications and tools.
Perform data input and analysis, including processing and digitizing films; analyzing and managing beam data; input, smooth, and document data input for planning systems; prepare planning system test cases; manage and document storage of machine data.
Acquire and or analyze treatment and quality assurance information including machine data, setup, and imaging information. Analyze these data with respect to expected results.
Perform machine and process-related quality assurance checks of the treatment planning/delivery process from simulation through the planning process to treatment delivery; analyze planning and delivery-related data.
Run routine experimental procedures in several areas of medical physics, including dosimetry measurements, planning and optimization experiments, and other relevant types of experiments.
Develop software and scripting applications to assist in data and image analysis, data and image management, experiment development??
Qualifications
Education:??
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Programming, Engineering or related field preferred
Experience:??
Strong competency using a PC in a Windows environment required
