Your Role With Us:
Salem Health is seeking an experienced Provider & Clinical Compensation Manager to lead provider contracting and compensation for our growing health system. The primary functions of this role include:
Compensation Strategy & Development:
Develop, implement, and manage compensation plans for providers ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Analyze market trends, competitive data, and regulatory changes to ensure compensation packages remain competitive and compliant.
Provide technical guidance on compensation systems and programs.
Ensure all provider compensation programs are in compliance with relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and payer requirements (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers).
Stay informed on changes to compensation laws and regulations affecting the healthcare industry; implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Leadership of Provider Compensation and Contracting Teams:
Supervise and provide direction to the provider compensation and contracting teams ensuring alignment with departmental goals and the organization’s broader objectives.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment; driving efficiency and high-quality performance across both teams.
Ensure teams are adequately trained and have the resources needed to perform their roles effectively.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the compensation and contracting teams to ensure streamlined communication and coordinated efforts.
Continuously evaluate and improve compensation and contracting processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Lead special projects related to provider compensation and contracting, such as re-designing compensation structures or conducting provider compensation audits.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Conduct thorough analyses of compensation data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Create and present regular reports on compensation program performance to senior leadership, recommending adjustments as needed.
Manage compensation modeling to assess and forecast compensation-related costs, ensuring sustainability.
Collaboration with Human Resources & Leadership:
Work closely with the HR department to ensure smooth integration of compensation programs with recruitment, retention, and provider engagement strategies.
Advise leadership on compensation-related matters, providing insights and recommendations on best practices for provider compensation.
Provide guidance on compensation decisions for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers.

Education:
Bachelor Degree required; preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years of progressive leadership experience in one of the following areas required: Human Resources, Finance or Project Management related to provider compensation.
Five years’ experience developing and administering compensation programs, with at least two years’ experience working in provider compensation (including experience building interfaces with Finance, HRIS, Payroll) preferred.
