This position is responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing the ministries of Pastoral and Spiritual Care with focus on Associates? mental, emotional and spiritual well being.
Responsibilities:
Organize and supervise all assigned Pastoral and Spiritual Care activities
Make routine pastoral spiritual visits to all Nurse Associates and Sisters and be available to listen to their concerns
Visit each newly arrived Sister to acquaint her with our pastoral spiritual care services and to begin to identify her pastoral and spiritual needs
Help plan and implement as assigned all Liturgical services with the local leader, e.g.. anointing of the sick, Eucharistic celebrations for different occasions, memorial services and days of prayer
Assist, as assigned, coordination of extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion
Be willing to serve in this capacity at Daily Eucharist
Provide counseling and emotional support for Associates, Sisters, their families and staff particularly in times of stress and at the time of death
Attend, as assigned, the interdisciplinary team meetings and keep open communication with all departments
Coordinate religious programs for the Sisters and provide educational opportunities for the staff
Support, as requested, the Liturgy Committee and Management Committee
Collaborate with other Associates to ensure that the ministry goals and objectives are achieved
Communicate in a manner that is inclusive and respectful of each Associate
Support other Associates by participating as a team player
Treat Associates with respect in the fulfillment of duties
Attend and participate in departmental meetings
Attend and participate in assigned education events
Provide feedback through Associate Satisfaction surveys and other focus groups/surveys to improve and maintain a great place to work
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Prefer Master?s Degree of Science in Counseling
At least two (2) years experience as a vowed religious in good standing with a Congregation that serves in the Diocese of Tyler
