Overview
The Accounting Manager is a detail-oriented and strategic member of the accounting team. The professional is this role utilizes their extensive knowledge of accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient accounting operations. In addition to supervising staff in the day-to-day accounting operations, the Accounting Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide accounting support and refine processes.Primary Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the Controller, oversees and coordinates the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process, including preparation and review of company financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintains and strengthens internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Assists external auditors and tax preparers by providing required information for the annual audit and tax provision.
- Oversees Accounting operations, which include the general accounting, accounts payable and travel and expense functions.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Collaborates with other departments and teams in support of complete and accurate financial statements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years general accounting experience, including financial statement analysis.
- Minimum two (2) years progressive experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of inter-entity accounting, include usage of Due To/Due From accounts.
- Demonstrated experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) accounting system.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work cooperatively, sensitively, and tactfully while maintaining professionalism with all levels of staff and customers.
- Experience with training staff on accounting procedures and process improvement analysis.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Master's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Seven (7) years advanced accounting experience, including financial statement analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications and environments, including database management.
- Experience in a healthcare organization.
