Please note that this position is with the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at Villa de Matel Center located in Houston, Texas. The Villa de Matel Center is the home for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. It is also used as a central gathering place for the Sisters and their ministries, a retirement center for the Sisters and a retreat center for the public. Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for the maintenance of the electrical systems and electrical control elements throughout the facility and associated buildings; including preventative and routine maintenance.
1. Responsible for the installation, adjustment, maintenance and repairs of all lighting and power systems in or out of the buildings.
2. Encounter testing of 20/208/230/488-volt lighting and power systems, repair and/or replace faulty switches, receptacles and other elements of electrical systems.
3. Dismantle and rebuild electrical machinery, replacing necessary defective parts. Restore electrical connections to complete circuits.
4. Cut and shape conduit and fasten in place; fasten fixtures, change ballasts, switches and outlet boxes. Mount motors, transformers, lighting fixtures or other equipment and complete circuits according to diagram or specifications.
5. Examine and test such elements as controls, circuit breakers, relays and motors to locate obvious faults, i.e. short circuits, tripped breakers, broken wires, loose connections and worn motor brushes.
6. Check to see that equipment has required safety devices and is in good working condition.
7. Assist and monitor contractor?s work to be sure specifications and codes are in compliance per code. Reports any variance of contract to supervisor.
8. Periodically, on a rotating basis is on call as scheduled.
9. Assists HVAC technician and Mechanic technician when needed.
10. Cross trains with maintenance software.
11. Performs other jobs as requested and coordinate scope of work within Maintenance department.
