Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: BSN or a degree in Medical Technology or Public Health required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Association for Practitioners in Infection Control certification preferred. Require working toward APIC certification within two years of employment. If graduate from nursing school, a current New Mexico license required.
SKILLS: Knowledge of all aspects of a healthcare facility, including microbiology, surgical, medical, maternal child, pediatric, geriatric and physical plant. Excellent time management and conflict resolution skills. Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently required. Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
EXPERIENCE: Five years clinical experience required and epidemiology training preferred.

ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen: Occasionally works irregular hours. Exposure to infectious diseases and subject to varying unpredictably situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations, prolonged standing/walking. Has knowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or assists normal adult-weight transfer patients or equipment. Hearing and visual acuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.
