Performs as a high-profile leader and champion for advancing Lee Healths clinical quality and patient safety programs across the system of care. Provides leadership and organization-wide direction, development and implementation of services and programs within assigned areas to meet organizational goals and objectives and to maintain compliance with accrediting agencies.
Serves as a transformational leader accountable for ensuring that the organization has a market-leading quality and safety program and directs clinical performance, patient safety, quality and compliance goals working closely with Medical Staff, department chiefs and chairs and other senior leaders across the system.
The Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer directs clinical performance, patient safety, quality, and compliance goals. Works closely with clinical analytics and informatics to meet Lee Health Quality and Safety needs. Collaborates and partners with Medical Staff, department chiefs and chairs and other leaders across the system to smoothly and effectively plan, program and oversee quality and safety programs.
Provides reporting to the appropriate governing committees such as the Clinical Collaboration Council, Clinical Consensus Groups, Joint Operating Committees, Physician Leadership Council (PLC), Facility Medical Executive Committees (FMECs Medical Staff Quality Committees, Chief Operating Leader Council (COLC), and Lee Health Boards Quality Safety and Patient Experience Committee to represent organizational performance with regard to safety and quality initiatives. Serves as a liaison to the FMECs and provides linkage between Lee Healths quality and patient safety initiatives while collaborating with the VP of Clinical Performance.
Using data analytics tools and decisions support, the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer sets the vision and direction for Lee Healths Quality and Safety Program, guiding the development and realization of Lee Healths quality goals and culture of safety throughout the system while ensuring compliance with all national, state and other agencies regulatory quality and safety standards. Collaborates with Lee Heaths operating unit dyad leadership to achieve care standardization based on evidence-based practices across all facilities at Lee Health, to obtain yearly accreditation. Models the standards of behavior as defined by the Lee Health values and Physician Compact in all interactions and effectively leads a team of Quality and Safety professionals to help accomplish organizational goals
Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in business, Finance, Planning or related field required. Masters degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health Administration or Planning preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of healthcare supervisory/management experience required. Direct experience working in a complex multi-unit healthcare system or in a consulting capacity to healthcare systems.

Other: Requires proven competency in data analysis, interpretation and trending of financial and utilization data. Brings a methodological perspective on how to develop and execute strategy processes. Balances futuristic thinking with pragmatic bias for action and technological prowess with compassion. Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills preferred.
