Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH) Sleep/EEG Center is an 8 bed lab accredited member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Sleep Disorders affect more than 70 million Americans. At BJWCH, we provide excellent patient care and education. Overnight sleep testing is performed in a quiet, dark and safe environment with a focus on service excellence and technical quality by Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
To perform Polysomnography responsibilities, oversee clinical operations and assist the manager in performing administrative operations in the Sleep Disorder Center.
Responsibilities
Categorizes sleep stages and interprets and reports resulting data.
Schedules patients and maintains a record of testing and results. Prepares the patient for polysomnography.
Calibrates, initiates, and maintains equipment.
Arranges and/or provides in-services on sleep related issues.
Provides expert knowledge for the sleep lab staff.
