Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Specialist. NVRH seeks a Risk & Compliance Specialist to join our team and help ensure our organization remains compliant, efficient, and prepared for future challenges. As a Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will be critical in supporting our Risk and Compliance Office. Your work will include policy management, auditing, compliance education, and ensuring our operations align with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. As part of your responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to internal and external audits, the Risk & Compliance program, and be involved in special projects that will further enhance NVRH's commitment to legal excellence and patient care.
What you’ll do day to day:
Policy Management
Manage the organization’s policy database by updating policies, monitoring for changes, troubleshooting system issues, and providing user training.
Quality Support System (SQSS) Administration
Handle public inquiries, document low-risk occurrences, and train staff on policy management and quality systems.
Auditing and Compliance Support
Plan and conduct audits, monitor corrective actions, and prepare compliance reports.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate risks, conduct investigations, audit medical records, provide HIPAA training, and educate staff on risk and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
Research compliance regulations, manage special projects, support departmental meetings, and communicate professionally with staff.
