Schedule: Full Time
Shift: Monday – Thursday; 7:45am – 5:00pm and Friday; 7:45am – 12:00pm and once each month until 5:00pm

The role you’ll contribute:
The Referral Coordinator coordinates referral requests and communication of appointments using general clerical and customer service skills including, but not limited to, organizing requests from multiple locations, obtaining pre-authorizations, and communicating status of appointments. Personnel provide patients with information regarding living wills, advance directives, conditions of admission, patient rights, and financial responsibilities, while obtaining all necessary demographic, insurance, and other information or signatures necessary to complete the admitting/registration process. All activities are completed in compliance with the applicable state, federal, or regulatory guidelines.

- Coordinates referral requests as ordered by the physician for diagnostic testing and specialty office appointments from multiple locations
- Verifies insurance policies and obtains benefits, such as copays, deductibles, co-insurances, out-of-pocket maximums, and medical necessity.
- Obtains all authorizations and precertification numbers for required services prior to scheduled appointment.
- Carries out additional duties as assigned
- Exhibits exceptional customer service skills while scheduling and pre-registering patients for procedures.
- Informs patient of any instructions needed to follow for their appointment.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Must have previous experience in customer service and/or clerical setting
- Customer Service skills.
- Operating a computer.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- Answering, directing, and making phone calls.
Preferred qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
