The Executive Director, Organizational Communications, oversees, develops and leads enterprise-wide communications and strategies designed to support the mission and goals of Cedars-Sinai. The executive director conceives, writes and edits messaging to uphold the brand, inform patients and visitors, engage physicians and employees, support system growth and develop a cohesive voice for clinical, operational, academic and research teams across the organization.
Leads a team that is responsible for elevating and protecting Cedars-Sinai's reputation by driving staff engagement and retention; navigating crises; strengthening culture; enhancing the patient/visitor experience; advancing evolving business objectives; and promoting the organization's strategic clinical, research, business and operational priorities to internal audiences. Establishes editorial direction and guides communications planning with institutional leaders and other stakeholders. Participates in the strategic planning process to develop and implement organization-wide strategic communication programs designed to ensure consistent messaging throughout the organization to both internal and patient/visitor-facing audiences. Provides leadership and fosters strategic partnerships across the organization. Advises on executive communications, serves as a key communications adviser to members on the President's Executive Advisory Committee (PEAC) and establishes strategic and timely messaging with organization-wide impact. Coordinates with health system entities on strategic organizational initiatives, messaging and crisis communications.
Oversees, develops, writes and edits internal and patient/visitor-facing communications for Cedars-Sinai-including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Network. Sets objectives, develops operational strategies, builds comprehensive communications plans, creates goals to support short- and long-term strategic goals for the organization, and sets standards to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
Oversees the editorial planning, creation and dissemination of impactful messaging and content to support our business strategy across multiple channels and formats including newsletters, intranet content, executive communications, and digital signage, ensuring clarity and consistency of messaging.
Oversee the design and delivery of a comprehensive digital engagement channel strategy in partnership with other Marketing & Communications teams; maintains more than two dozen channels of engagement across print and digital platforms for employees, patients and visitors, from owned publications to intranet and digital signage; evaluates and transforms these communications channels and strategies to meet the needs of an evolving workforce and consumer audience; leverages innovative new mediums, format and channels to reach and engage intended audiences and bring Cedars-Sinai?s narrative to life through creative communications and engaging experiences.
Plans, evaluates and implements all internal-facing communications programs, channels and strategies to employees, physicians and volunteers, cultivating a strong system voice to enhance the employee experience and redefine the corporate culture through targeted and broad-based campaigns.
Oversees the HR communications portfolio, including supporting programs to inform, engage and empower employees, enhancing the employee experience, increasing retention, and positioning Cedars-Sinai as a top employer.
Supports executive and senior leadership across the organization with strategic and tactical communications, including executive and faculty leadership announcements, and collaborates with senior leadership to enhance executive presence across various internal channels, including memos, talking points, newsletters, speechwriting, video and more. Advises and provides counsel and support to develop executive and PEAC-level messaging.
Lead internal communication efforts during periods of change and serve as key partner in bridging enterprise-wide partner functions and a diverse range of stakeholders; spearheads proactive and reactive crisis response, guiding communications strategy and crafting messages for critical internal and external stakeholders.
Develops, maintains and leads an expanding portfolio of responsibilities for patient and visitor communications, including setting high-level strategy and creating and managing unique communications touchpoints via digital and print channels to share important, timely and relevant information, enhance the consumer experience and guide patients through their care, public health issues and other topics.
Provides counsel and integrated internal and patient/visitor-facing communications strategies with Cedars-Sinai affiliates Torrance Memorial and Huntington Health where needed.
Advances system commitment to Diversity and Inclusion and Health Equity by delivering system resources and support in a culturally competent and sensitive manner, and threading the importance of D&I and Health Equity throughout internal communications.
Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives and refine strategies and improve communication outcomes; develop and implement programs and initiatives that encourage employee feedback, participation, and two-way communication, fostering a culture of openness and inclusivity
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of storytellers representing multiple audiences and entities, with specialized skills in writing, strategy, digital communications, design, publications and effective compliance with brand identity standards; support people development and growth; foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovating, enterprise-level thinking and continuous improvement; prioritize and flow work across the team to drive the most impact; hold team accountable for achievement of results.
