Summary: Assists the Charge Master Coordinator in the maintenance of the CDM.
Responsibilities: 1. Analyzes and coordinates electronic data files with hospital departments and ensures missed charges are billed. Creates and maintains daily excel files. Coordinates rule issues with vendor and compiles new rules as necessary. Creates and submits quarterly reports to monitor the impact of missed revenue and the outcome of revenue posted. Submits recommendations and assists departments with corrective action plans. 2. Assists CDM Coordinator with maintenance of the charge master file. Performs daily validation of CDM maintenance. Performs general CDM maintenance as required. Processes/coordinates CDM projects/files given by manager. Assists with reconciliation of monthly CDM files in BPI. 3. Audits revenue reports to ensure charge accuracy. Reviews daily high dollar reports to ensure accuracy of charge amount and units billed. Coordinates activities with hospital departments to make charge corrections. Performs periodic audits to ensure appropriate charging of services based on medical documentation. Compiles reports and submit findings and recommendations to department managers. 4. Reviews departmental charge capture procedures. Yearly review procedures, ensures updates have been added. Maintains a copy of all procedures. Performs random department audits to ensure they are following their procedures.

Other information: Education Requirements: ? Bachelor?s degree in an appropriate discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Licensure/Certification Requirements: ? No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements: ? If a Bachelor's degree: Three (3) years of experience in a hospital setting with knowledge of Medicare billing and experience interpreting government regulations. ? If an Associate's degree: Seven (7) years of experience in a hospital setting with knowledge of Medicare billing and experience interpreting government regulations. ? If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of experience in a hospital setting with knowledge of Medicare billing and experience interpreting government regulations.
