As a Histotechnologist 1, your key duties will include:
•Process, embed, cut, and image a variety of tissues specimens for electron microscopy.
•Prepare thick and thin sections as needed, including staining and special processing, preparing knives, reviewing and scanning grids, preparing digital photography.
•Maintain quality control logs and other documentation to ensure the highest standards of laboratory practice.
•Collaborate with faculty, residents, and grossing personnel to address concerns or questions related to test orders.
•Uphold a clean, well-organized, and safe laboratory environment to promote efficiency and safety.
•Track laboratory supplies, maintain work logs, and place orders.
Salary Range: $52.83/hour - $63.14/hour
Qualifications
•Histotechnician HT, Histotechnologist HTL, or Certified Electron Microscopy Technologist (CEMT) certification strongly preferred.
•Minimum of 3 years’ clinical Electron Microscopy experience.
•Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g. HiSET or GED).
•Must have flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed.
