Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate, supervise and is accountable for the daily/weekly/monthly activities of a team members
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met, such as Quality, Adherence, Service Level and AHT
Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, managers, departments, etc.
Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
Provide coaching and feedback to team members, including formal corrective action
Conduct regular performance reviews for team members
Provide expertise and customer service support to team members, customers, and/or providers
Assists with other ad hoc responsibilities deemed necessary by his/her supervisors
Require minimal assistance with standard and non-standard requests
Work with Clinical Review Manager to solve more complex problems
Abide by and perform to the best of abilities and all function, duties and responsibilities to be assigned by the Company in due course
Comply with the orders and instructions given from time to time by the Company through its authorized representatives
Shall not disclose any confidential information in respect of the affairs of the Company to any unauthorized representatives
Perform any other administrative or non-administrative duties as assigned by any representative of the Company from time to time either through direct written order or by oral assignment
Participate in coding meetings and education conferences to maintain coding skills and accuracy
Demonstrate willingness and flexibility in working additional hours or changing hours
Consistently demonstrate time awareness: strive to meet deadlines; reduce non-essential interruptions to an absolute minimum
Demonstrate thorough understanding on how position impacts the project and organization
Exceed customer expectations. Proactively identify and respond to the different needs of team members and different team representatives working within Optum
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
Graduate of Nursing
Certified coder and registered nurse
3 years in Medical Coding
1 year supervisor in Medical Coding / health care
