The role you’ll contribute:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical procedures in the utilization of radionuclides for Nuclear Medicine (NM) studies and ionizing radiation for CT studies for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans. Performs a variety of responsibilities that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Delivers quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Utilizes two patient identifiers to confirm patient/exam accuracy before continuing with patient examination. Reviews and ensures physician requests meets clinically valid exam indicator requirements.
Ensures equipment has met all quality control requirements and, working with a minimum of supervision, performs patient examination utilizing age-specific care techniques in a safe and responsible manner.
Evaluates image quality to ensure good technical and diagnostic detail.
Presents completed exam and any patient historical data to radiologist/cardiologist for review. Assists with image manipulation or additional imaging as requested.
Assists patient with dressing, answering any questions the patient may have regarding their exam and expectations of results, and releases patient with directions to exit the hospital if needed.
Performs a wide range of Nuclear Medicine and CT procedures demonstrating proficiency with camera acquisition, scanners, injectors and computer processing in assigned area.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed:
Current valid Florida state license as:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Computed Tomography,
OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist and General Radiographer
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB),
ORARRT - N through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
ARRT – CT through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Associate degree or higher in health-science-related field (Preferred)
PET-CT experience (Preferred)
