Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Infection Preventionist

Role Overview:

• Be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of healthcare-associated infections at MSK.
• Surveillance activity includes infection outcome and process measures for both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collect and analyze data, investigate outbreaks, observe practices, participate in patient rounds, perform education, and design and lead interventions to improve infection control across the medical center.
• Address infection prevention issues within the medical center as well as those in the community that impacts patients.
• Help to set infection prevention policies and serves as a resource to administrators, physicians, staff, and the community regarding infection prevention practices.

Key Qualifications:

• Help to set infection prevention policies and serves as a resource to administrators, physicians, staff, and the community regarding infection prevention practices.
• Conduct environment of care rounds and other site visits as needed

Core Skills:

• 3-4 years' work experience in an Infection Prevention and Control setting; experience working in an ambulatory care setting is a plus
• Work on call (weekends) as needed
• Coverage of perioperative areas may require flexibility in work schedule
• Certification in Infection Control preferred

Additional Information:

• Location: Across all MSK Locations (Transportation Provided)
• Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday with Friday with on-call weekend shift as needed
• Reporting to: Manager, Infection Control
• Pay Range: $98,500.00-$157,600.00
