In 2023, St. Lukes announced the establishment of St. Lukes Childrens Hospital at the Bethlehem Campus and is a proud member of the Childrens Hospital Association, representing decades of growth and investment in pediatric services.
Lukes Childrens Hospital and Department of Pediatrics consists of inpatient, neonatal, emergency medicine, primary and specialty care providers spread across a variety of practice locations. The Network also has a robust base of family practice providers all contributing to a large referral base.
The department is supported by a growing team of pediatric specialists spanning 40 specialty areas including pediatric surgery, GI, endocrinology, nephrology, developmental pediatrics, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, psychiatry, pulmonology, radiology, anesthesia, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and more! Many are conveniently located at St. Lukes Pediatric Specialty Center, the regions only freestanding building dedicated entirely to pediatric services.
The surgical program receives support from strong OR resources including pediatric anesthesiology (MDs and CRNAs), pediatric minimally invasive equipment and appropriate block time.
All pediatric and neonatal surgery occurs at St. Lukes Childrens Hospital, Bethlehem Campus which is also home to a newly renovated 17-bed inpatient pediatric unit staffed 24/7 by pediatric hospitalists, an 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care unit staffed 24/7 by pediatric intensivists and a Level III Surgical NICU for all neonatal surgeries staffed 24/7 by neonatologists. The Network also has an 8 bed Level II NICU at St. Lukes Allentown Campus, 26 bed Level III NICU at St. Lukes Anderson Campus, and a 6 bed Level II NICU at St. Lukes Upper Bucks Campus.
Growing OB department with nearly 5,000 deliveries per year. Strong MFM division as referral base for fetal anomalies/neonatal surgery.
Support from a stable team of pediatric locums surgeons to allow for a balanced call schedule.
Teaching and research opportunities with our well-established General Surgery residency program, medical school and affiliation with Temple University, and opportunity to work with the newly established Pediatric residency program.
