Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, performs general clerical and support duties for the department. This position is also responsible for entering information into the pharmacy IT system, selling prescriptions, managing inventory and completing prescription workflow steps.
Responsibilities
Completes clerical duties, to include sending and receiving tubes & faxes, filing prescriptions, processing mail & courier prescriptions.
Enters customer, insurance and prescription information and completes prescription transfers.
Orders and manages inventory (drug and non-drug); stocks shelves; rotates, organizes, and removes expired product; performs cycle counts and returns to stock.
Completes data entry, contact manager, product dispensing (manual and automated via Parata and RxSafe), and basic compounding.
