Starting pay: $29.81 - $37.29/hour, eligible for over-time. ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
The Center for Theology and Ethics in Catholic Health (CTECH) is a research center that aims at excellence in providing comprehensive resources for faithfully exploring how Catholic health can promote human flourishing by drawing on the Church’s teaching and the best expression of Catholic theological ethics. The needs of the Catholic health ministry drive the theological and ethical inquiry of the Center. The Center offers guidance for those in Catholic health, the bishops and the Church, and the world. It is sponsored by the Catholic Health Association of the United States.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides administrative and research support to the Executive Director and Senior Director of the Center for Theology and Ethics in Catholic Health. This position will be expected to proficiently prioritize tasks, solve problems, manage logistics, and coordinate various projects and initiatives. This includes arranging travel, tracking expenses and budgets, managing the Center’s communications (including website) and managing correspondence with various stakeholders. In addition, this position will conduct research topics in medicine, theology, and ethics. Some travel is required (approximately 10%).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Senior Director.
Assist the Executive Director and Senior Director on projects.
Assist in researching topics in medicine, theology, and ethics, including identifying relevant materials and summarizing such materials.
Assist in oversight and coordination of payments and invoicing for external consultants.
Work with communications, operations, and website designers to coordinate an efficient and timely production process for programs/projects led by the Executive Director and Senior Director.
Track expenses and budget
Assist with program support including scheduling, planning, creating agendas, creating, and editing presentations.
Attend and take minutes for Center meetings.
HOME OFFICE LOCATION St. Louis, MO, with the ability to work from home subject to CHA’s policies on flexible work arrangements.
QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 2+ years coordinating projects and performing research.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability: A professional demeanor and virtual/phone presence. Exceptional organization, time management, analytical, technical troubleshooting, and project coordination skills. Accuracy and attention to detail required. Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required (advanced level a plus). Web content experience (CMS) a plus (e.g. WordPress). Ability to learn new software (e.g. Aptify) and adapt quickly when there are software upgrades. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in editing documents. Academic research skills. Ability to read, interpret, and summarize complex materials in medicine, theology, and ethics. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
