The Department of Health Services Management and Policy at ETSU of Public Health is seeking candidates for two (2) full-time Postdoctoral Fellow positions. These positions will be part of the Center for Applied Research and Evaluation in Women’s Health (CARE Women’s Health). We are looking for researchers who are committed to advancing the field of reproductive health care and policy. This opportunity allows you to enhance your research skills while contributing to important projects that improve health outcomes for women. The Postdoctoral Fellows will work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and will engage in research and evaluation, including data management, data analysis, dissemination, and documentation in support of funded reproductive health research projects. The Fellows will collaborate with senior and early career researchers on projects, assist in the direction of graduate students, and work with the CARE Women’s Health team to meet the deliverables associated with the Choose Well Evaluation grant. Other roles as assigned.
Postdoctoral Fellows will have the opportunity for advanced training in reproductive health research and policy, mentorship, peer-reviewed journal article publication, conference presentation, access to novel datasets, grant writing, professional development for roles inside and outside of academia, and development of skills in project conceptualization, execution, and strategic dissemination.
CARE Women’s Health boasts diverse faculty expertise and research programs within a comprehensive college of public health. Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, the college is home to multiple departments and research centers and enjoys collaborative relationships with four other health-related colleges within ETSU Health, the Mountain Home VA Medical Center, and the region’s public health and healthcare systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and experience in quantitative research and evaluation methodologies for the social sciences.
Ability to use SAS, Stata, or R statistical software packages for data management analysis.
Ability to apply appropriate statistical methods for complex research designs involving cross-sectional and/or longitudinal data.
Proficiency in scientific and technical writing and program evaluation.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications
PhD, DrPH, ScD, or an equivalent degree in public health, social sciences, statistics, or a related discipline.
NOTE: Applications will be considered from candidates who expect to graduate with their doctoral degree by May 2025
Preferred Qualifications
Experience participating in research in the women’s health, reproductive health, and/or maternal and child health fields.
Experience in management and analysis of large datasets.
