The Memphis VA Medical Center has an opening for a Chief of Radiology with a dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The position reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for the administration, management, and leadership of the entire Diagnostic Imaging Department. This position serves as an extension of the Chief of Staff and serves as a backup in the absence.
The Medical Center consists of one main campus and ten community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). It’s a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system located in one of the fastest growing Veteran population regions in the United States. The facility provides comprehensive care to over 47,000 Veterans in a 52-county area of Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Northeast Arkansas. It includes 236 inpatient beds with a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, as well as extensive education and research programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:
The Chief of Radiology will encompass the breadth of clinical care, including inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic and management of the Diagnostic Imaging Service in addition to supervision of other providers, medical staff, and trainees assigned to Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology. The Chief will provide services and technical counsel as necessary, promoting the development of professional staff within the service through coaching, mentoring, and teaching. In addition, the Chief will participate in top level decision and policy design that impacts patient care through collaboration with medical center administration, other Service Chiefs, and interdepartmental supervisors, as well as direct medical care programs, delegate authority and responsibilities to meet both the patient care needs and medical center goals.
BE/EC in Diagnostic Radiology
Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at UTHSC
Three plus years of leadership experience preferred
Full and unrestricted license from ANY state
US Citizenship
Be proficient in the written and spoken use of the English language
