The Project Manager I is responsible for organizing and leading teams for small to moderately complex projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of project tasks and goals for the Quality Operations department. This includes managing the project scope, timeline, and resources, as well as providing leadership and guidance to project team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Develops project plans to ensure feasibility of project with proper resourcing and effective change management.
Establishes project deliverables and timeframes and holds project team accountable for completion, keeping in mind both short-term and long-term objectives. Establishes clear project charter, team roles, responsibilities and accountabilities to ensure success of project. Prepares and presents project scope document and achieves agreement on project parameters and objectives. Receives approvals at each phase of project.
Participates in feasibility studies, business planning, and benefit analysis studies as required to ensure that elements of cost, benefit, and risk are identified and considered.
Collaborates with other departments to obtain needed resources to complete projects within expectations and timeframes.
Manages small scale and moderately complex projects to ensure quality and timely achievement of project deliverables and objectives.
Prepares and maintains project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets and status reports.
Communicates task assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and timely manner. Manages work plan and project tasks to meet committed time frames and project milestones.
Monitors project status, resolves risks, issues, action items and decisions in a timely manner and escalates to leadership for support when needed.
Facilitates team meetings to discuss project progress (daily stand-ups if using Agile methodology).
Serves as a contact to senior management and key stakeholders to report project progress and to assist with problem resolution.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Maintains business operations and applications knowledge level to provide required information as needed.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or related field preferred
Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies
Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet, Planview, Azure Dev Ops, etc
Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies
Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Aptitude for quickly understanding and documenting new processes and technical concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the project team and stakeholders
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
Ability to balance demands and response to time constraints
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and collaboration tools
