Director, AMGA Consulting, manages consulting engagements and supports activities related to client relations.
Responsible for the following:
Provision of support to VP, COO or President on assigned engagements which may include management of one or more aspects of an overall engagement
Overall management of assigned consulting engagements, including project management, supervision of staff, client/engagement management, processes and fee management.
Business development activities including development of white papers, articles, and presentations.
Prepares proposals in accordance with AMGA Consulting standards and in an effort to capture new business.
Develops and refines processes in the consulting cycle.
Provides either support to or overall management of assigned consulting engagements:
Utilizes project management skills to ensure project is carried out on-time and on-budget and meets the deliverables as agreed upon in the engagement proposal.
Provides exemplary customer services and maintains a strong relationship with client.
Manages to the fiscal terms of each engagement by managing hours and staff allocations.
Continually evaluates opportunities to provide additional services, as appropriate to each client’s needs.
Maintains weekly schedules in order to ensure completion of tasks and delivery of engagement:
Client conference calls
Internal conference calls
Communication and expectations with staff on assigned engagements
Develops consulting materials, data analysis, and reports that are:
Accurate
Timely
Exhibit writing precision
Articulate recommendations clearly and concisely
Excels at Business Development activities:
Establishes self as a thought-leader by developing and presenting:
White papers
Articles
Presentations
Scans environment for opportunities for engagements for firm
New clients
Expansion of projects for existing clients
Both within area of specialization and by introduction of others with AMGA Consulting (ex. When working on compensation design project, introduces operational consulting as a means to better align organization)
Develops proposals for engagements:
Utilizes AMGA Consulting standard proposal template
Utilizes AMGA Consulting pricing standards
Ensures projects are within AMGA Consulting capabilities
Ensure AMGA Consulting processes are applicable and will lead to solutions and deliverables sought by potential client
Provides leadership within AMGA Consulting:
Participates in Consulting Team calls
Actively engages in calls
Provides data and updates as requested for Project Tracker
Delivers assignments, such as article reviews and project reviews
Participates in Strategic Planning activities
Participates in development of new services, processes and business plans
Responsible for Administrative Tasks:
Inputs time records into BigTime on at least a weekly basis (by Monday of following week at 8 a.m.)
Inputs expenses into BigTime on at least a monthly basis on a timeline that allows for expenses to be included in monthly bills to clients
Provides timely detail regarding activities for monthly billing process
Follows up on outstanding accounts receivable as appropriate
Keeps VP, COO and President of AMGA Consulting up to date on each engagement managed
Adheres to AMGA Consulting standard processes:
Utilizing shared drive to save all client materials, proposals, data bases and excel files
Writing precision
Travel policies
This position is expected to work independently from a home office as all consulting staff maintain a “virtual” office.
Ability to multi-task, maintain several projects at same time, work in a variety of settings including client’s locations, home office, and while traveling. Ability to travel on a regular basis.
Requires a Master’s degree in business, healthcare, nursing or MD/DO
Must have 5 years of experience in a healthcare administrative setting or consultancy
Ability and experience in project management, presentation development, consulting, practice management, financial management and leadership
Must possess exemplary personal characteristics
Requires ability to work independently and in a manner that creates trust with clients
Ability to travel approximately 25-50% of work week and ability to maintain home office
Possesses strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal arenas
