Overview
Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.
Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.
Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

Role Purpose
Directs and supports sterile processing staff to provide quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization and distribution services with proper management of service utilization and inventory levels.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure the appropriate professional standards are consistently applied.
Provides decontamination and sterilization evaluation planning, operations and maintenance consultation to management at BJC organizations.
Assists or manages the operations of unit services and integration with other departments.
Provides input and may create effective work plans that include identifying the correct resources, processes and space needed for the work unit.
Monitors surgery schedule of cases to assure proper instruments are available.
May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
