The Department of Palliative and Supportive Care at Cleveland Clinic is seeking applicants for a full-time clinical staff position at the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center in Akron, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, thriving palliative care team as an integrated partner within the oncology team in the ambulatory setting. Ideal candidates will be strong clinicians with an interest in medical education and professional development. Candidates must be BC/BE in Palliative Medicine and Hospice and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
Primary responsibilities include outpatient specialty palliative care in the oncology clinic, as a part of an interprofessional team including nursing, social work and physician colleagues. Opportunities for engagement with education are available. Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Palliative and Supportive Care offers a competitive, robust fellowship program, training 6 physician yearly. Teaching opportunities extend to a variety of trainees, including oncology fellows, medicine and surgical residents, and allopathic and osteopathic medical students. A commitment to interprofessional collaboration and outstanding communication skills are essential. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement are also available.
