Our Piedmont Healthcare (PHC) Infection Prevention Managers play a vital role in leading and supporting a team of Infection Prevention professionals within the largest healthcare system in Georgia. This position involves providing oversight of the Infection Prevention (IP) program for our Columbus campuses, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines, policies, and regulations. The Manager collaborates with the Infection Prevention team as well as various disciplines at both the local Columbus area and PHC system level to promote and implement infection prevention initiatives, education, and training programs. They are responsible for developing and maintaining effective infection prevention protocols, conducting regular assessments, and monitoring infection trends to identify and mitigate potential risks. The Infection Prevention Manager also serves as a resource for staff, patients, and visitors on matters related to infection prevention, including outbreak investigations and containment strategies. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. This role reports directly to the system PHC Infection Prevention Director and highly collaborates with the team of Infection Prevention managers of PHC. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License OR Master's degree in Microbiology, Public Heath, Biology, Epidemiology, Medical Technology or other related health/science field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five (5) years of previous work experience in a hospital setting, clinical quality, epidemiology or performance improvement, preferably in infection prevention.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None.
REQUIRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC)
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certification in Public Health (CPH), or Lean Six Sigma Healthcare or QPI Certifications Black Belt. Master's degree in Nursing or other related health/science field.
